Aubrey Peeples, born Aubrey Shea Peeples on November 27, 1993, is an American actress and singer-songwriter from Lake Mary, Florida. She is known for a career that merges both acting and music, rising to prominence through roles in musical television series and films. Her musical style is versatile, encompassing the country and Americana genres she explored in the series Nashville, as well as the pop-rock sound featured in the film Jem and the Holograms. Peeples began performing and studying theatre from a young age before moving to pursue her professional career.
Peeples gained significant musical recognition for her role as Layla Grant in the ABC/CMT drama Nashville, where she was a featured vocalist on numerous tracks for the show's official soundtracks alongside the Nashville Cast. In 2015, she starred as the lead character, Jerrica "Jem" Benton, in the live-action film adaptation of Jem and the Holograms, performing lead vocals on the film's soundtrack released by Republic Records. Beyond her soundtrack work, Peeples has released her own music independently, including her 2023 single, "The Good Ones".
