AR/CO is an electronic alt-pop duo comprising British vocalist and songwriter Leo Stannard and Australian vocalist and songwriter Mali-Koa Hood. Based in London, England, the pair blend electronic dance music with indie-pop sensibilities to create a sound positioned between Daft Punk and MGMT. Stannard and Hood first met at a writing camp in London two years before forming the project, initially establishing themselves as prolific songwriters for major artists including G-Eazy, Tiesto, Alan Walker, and Sigma. Formed during lockdown in 2021, AR/CO emerged with the mission to create music for escapism and global unity.
AR/CO's debut single "Call Me By My Name" arrived in 2021, followed by their breakthrough collaboration "Hot Air Balloon" with Don Diablo, which accumulated over 100 million Spotify streams and remains their signature track. The duo achieved further prominence through high-profile collaborations including "Bright Lights" with Kx5, Deadmau5, and Kaskade on the Grammy-nominated Kx5 album, and "Vibration (One More Time)" with Sub Focus. Additional notable collaborations include "Tears In Ibiza" with The Stickmen Project, "Worlds Apart" with Marshmello, and "The Feeling" with Rudimental and PNUA. Their independent releases "Night Feels" (2022), "Supersonic L.U.V." (2022), "Cherry Lips" (2024), and "Ocean" with Fisher (2024) showcase their distinctive dual-vocal signature and infectious production style, with "Ocean" released on the Catch & Release label.
