AMS (born Allen Smith), known professionally as AMS, is a British hard trance and hardcore producer and DJ based in the UK. Emerging onto the dance scene in 2002, AMS specializes in freeform hardcore and hard trance production, founding and operating the independent labels Switched On Records and Infectious Audio. His prolific output has appeared across more than twenty-five labels including Nukleuz, Bonkerz, Nu Energy, and React. A versatile producer, AMS records under multiple aliases—including DJ Resist for uplifting vocal hardcore, Antishock for Euro trance, and Delta-X for breaks—allowing him to explore diverse sonic territories within electronic music.
Since 2002, AMS has maintained a significant presence on the Bonkerz compilation series, contributing over twenty-two original tracks and numerous remixes. His early breakthrough came with the track Inverted Reality, released in 2002 on Nu Energy Records in collaboration with Dave Squish and Safe 'n' Sound. AMS has collaborated with notable producers including Sharkey on the Social Outkast project and Robbie Long as Smith & Western. In addition to his production work, he established Infectious Audio to specifically cater to vocal hardcore and main floor sound, while maintaining Switched On Records as an outlet for freeform and experimental material.
