He began his musical studies at the Béla Bartók Conservatory and the Budapest Academy of Music and continued his training at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris in the class of Étienne Baudo , following the International Summer Academy of Nice with Pierre Pierlot . Prizewinner of the Geneva International Competition for Musical Performance in 1968.
