Lazy Ants, also known as Filippo Fiorini, is a DJ and producer born in 1980 in Fiuggi, a town in the Lazio region of Italy, who has been based in Rome since 2000. Specializing in house, techno, and italo-techno, Lazy Ants emerged from Rome's club scene through bootleg productions that attracted attention from influential blogs including Big Stereo and Discobelle. His initial work showcased a blend of deep, energetic dance music that resonated with the techno and house communities across Europe.
Lazy Ants has built a prolific career producing remixes for international artists including Crookers, Larry Tee, Lauren Flax, Steed Lords, Act Yo Age, and Blatta & Inesha feat. Congorock, with releases on respected labels such as Southern Fried Records, Ultra Recordings, and Ministry of Sound. In 2010, he collaborated with Italian hip hop producer Big Fish on the album Fragile by rapper Nesli. His original compositions have appeared on prestigious imprints including Kneaded Pains and Food Music, with recent collaborations with M.F.S: Observatory and Phra. Notable releases include Procto EP on Booty Call Records (2015), the Lassameperdere EP with M.F.S: Observatory on Kneaded Pains (2022), and Lazy Ants & Friends on Food Music (2022).
