Selah Sol (Kareen Lomax) is an American singer-songwriter and producer born in Marietta, Georgia. Specialising in alternative-soul and alternative R&B, she is known for her deep, soulful voice and introspective songwriting. Her musical influences span multiple genres including soul, R&B, and indie music, drawing comparisons to artists such as Tracy Chapman and Marc E. Bassy. Lomax began writing music during childhood road trips between Georgia and Virginia and initially gained attention in 2017 with her independently released track Melatonin, followed by releases Been In Love and Clothes.
Kareen Lomax achieved significant mainstream recognition in 2020 when she collaborated with British producer Paul Woolford and American producer Diplo on the single Looking for Me, released through Higher Ground. The track peaked at number 4 on the UK Singles Chart and established her as a featured vocalist in electronic and dance music production. She has since contributed vocals and songwriting to multiple collaborations including City of Love with Surf Mesa in 2023, Heaven or Not with Diplo and Riva Starr, and features on tracks by TSHA and Aluna.
