Alvin Risk (real name Marcio Alvarado) is an American electronic music producer, DJ, and singer from Washington, D.C., born in 1988. He specializes in electro house, dubstep, moombahton, and trap music production. Beginning his professional career in 2004 as a member of the drum and bass group Corrupt Souls, Alvin Risk has established himself as a versatile producer working across multiple electronic and dance music genres. His releases span major labels including OWSLA, Dim Mak, Ministry of Sound, and his own imprint Memory LTD.
Risk gained significant recognition through high-profile collaborations and remixes during the early 2010s. His 2012 remix of Fun.'s "We Are Young" featuring Janelle Monae accumulated over 1 million YouTube views, demonstrating his ability to blend electronic production with mainstream appeal. The 2013 single "Try It Out" featuring Skrillex became his most successful release, with multiple remixes including the Neon Mix featured on Skrillex's 2014 album Recess as "Fuji Opener." Throughout his career, Risk has released numerous EPs including The Making Of (2011), Two Strokes Raw (2011), Infinity (2012), JunkFood (2013), and Venture (2014). His production work extends to remixes of tracks by Matt & Kim, Steve Aoki, Example, and others, while maintaining collaborations with artists like Designer Drugs and Kaskade. Risk has also produced for his sister Allie Alvarado's project Painted Face, crafting the EPs Undreamt and Paper Heart.
