Janine Small is a singer-songwriter and composer from Birmingham, United Kingdom. A graduate of the Birmingham Conservatoire where she studied composition and songwriting, Small has developed a career as a featured vocalist in house, garage, drum and bass, and UK electronic music production. Her recordings have been released through Quintessentials, RAM Records, Toolroom Records, Wolf Music, HedKandi, King Street, and Discopolis Recordings, with broadcast support from BBC 1Xtra, Rinse FM, Choice FM, and Flex FM. Small is also a law graduate who has pursued postgraduate studies at BCU School of Law whilst maintaining her work as a recording artist.
Small's vocal contributions span collaborations with electronic music producers including KRL, KILLBOX, MadFace, Unknown Error, Mind Vortex, Changing Planes, BUDD, Frankee, Mike Newman, and Antoine Cortez. Notable releases include "Never Leave" with KRL from Third (Quintessentials 62, 2018), which received remixes by Greymatter and Loz Goddard, as well as appearances on The Wave E.P. Parts 1 and 2 (2017), tracks such as "Higher," "Secrets," "Rising," and "Fallen Deep Enough," and "Real Love" (2018) on RAM Records in original, extended, and DAC Trax remix versions. Small has also appeared on the Nightlife 6 E.P. Small maintains an active presence in the UK underground electronic music scene.
