Artist Biography
Available in:
All Leather was an electro-noise band from San Diego, California formed in 2008 by vocalist Justin Pearson (of The Locust, Dead Cross) and guitarist Nathan Joyner (of Some Girls, Hot Nerds). The group's fluctuating lineup featured either Jung Sing or Tin Cagayat on drums, with keyboardist Eric Livingstone joining later. All Leather fused heavily distorted guitars and sharp electronic abrasion with aggressive vocal delivery, creating what Pearson described as "annoying." Their debut extended play Hung Like a Horse released on Dim Mak Records in 2009, followed by the remix album Hung Like a Donut the same year. Notable remixers of their work included Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Melt Banana, and the Bloody Beetroots.
The band released the full-length album When I Grow Up I Wanna Fuck Like a Girl in 2010 through Dim Mak, establishing their approach of abrasive electronic noise with provocative aesthetic choices. All Leather disbanded in 2012 due to logistical and financial difficulties, though members reconvened to record material in late 2013. A new 7-inch single titled An Insufficient Apology featuring a cover of Dave Van Ronk's "Luang Prabang" was released on Three One G in 2014, limited to 500 colored vinyl copies. In 2025, the band released Amateur Surgery on Half-Hog Abortion Island, a comprehensive re-recorded and remixed anthology of their entire discography on Three One G, reclaiming their music after disputes with their former label.
