Serum, born Mark Gaunt, is a London-based triple award-winning drum and bass DJ and producer. His sound blends vintage jungle with futuristic modern jump-up, establishing him as a key figure in the contemporary drum and bass scene. Serum's career began after being discovered by veteran producer Ray Keith, who signed him exclusively to the legendary Dread Recordings imprint. During his four years with Dread, he released numerous singles and EPs, including remixes of classic tracks like "Sing Time," "Girls Dem Want It," and "Dub Dread".
Following his time with Dread, Serum's career accelerated significantly. Tracks like "Snake Fist" and his "Papa Lover Remix" spent several weeks in the Radio 1 drum and bass chart, while his remixes for Top Cat and Twisted Individual, along with releases on Liquid V, Grid, Mac 2, and Critical, earned him regular support from top DJs including Andy C, Friction, Fabio, and Shy FX. Serum is one third of Kings of the Rollers alongside Voltage and Bladerunner, and owns the record label Souped Up Records, which has become a prominent platform for jungle and drum and bass releases.
