ÊMIA is the indie-pop project of Brooklyn-based Vietnamese-American singer, songwriter, and producer Anh Le. Emerging from the electronic music scene through her 2018 debut on Monstercat as the featured vocalist on Duumu's track Forward, she quickly established herself as a sought-after collaborator among rising DJs and producers. Her music blends introspective, diary-like songwriting with polished pop production, exploring themes of grief, longing, relationships, and identity with what she describes as both playful and deeply personal approach. Growing up influenced by artists like Avril Lavigne, Vanessa Carlton, and Taylor Swift, she began writing songs at age 13 and transitioned from piano to vocal performance.
ÊMIA released her debut EP Little Secret in July 2019, which featured tracks Psychic and If You Can't Take the Rain that earned placements on major Spotify editorial playlists including Pop Right Now, Fresh Finds, and Fresh Finds Poptronix. Her music has been released under Republic Records, Majestic Casual, and Monstercat, showcasing her versatility across indie-pop and electronic genres. Known for her self-produced work and cinematic visual projects that accompany her releases, she has performed at notable Brooklyn venues including Elsewhere, Bowery Electric, and the Knitting Factory. She has announced work on her debut album, releasing tracks incrementally while continuing to develop her distinctive sound as both an artist and producer.
