Born into a musical family in Sevenoaks, Kent in 1995, Matilda Lloyd was five-years-old when her mother introduced her to the piano, but a chance find at home three years later would alter the course of her life.
“I discovered my dad’s old trumpet in a cupboard,” she recalls with a smile. “I was looking for a new toy to play with and found the large and shiny nature of the trumpet very appealing! I could make a sound on the instrument, so my parents thought I better have some lessons.”
