Maisy Stella (born Maisy Jude Marion Stella on December 13, 2003, in Oshawa, Ontario) is a Canadian singer and actress known for her work as part of the country music duo Lennon & Maisy with her older sister Lennon Stella. Born into a musical family as the daughter of country duo The Stellas (Brad and MaryLynne Stella), Maisy grew up on a farm in Claremont, Ontario, where she began singing and playing instruments including ukulele, guitar, and piano from an early age. She gained widespread recognition alongside her sister when their cover of Robyn's "Call Your Girlfriend" went viral on YouTube in 2012, leading to their casting as Daphne and Maddie Conrad on the ABC/CMT musical drama series Nashville (2012-2018), where they performed country music as fictional sisters.
During her time on Nashville, Maisy and Lennon recorded numerous songs for the show's soundtrack, with their rendition of The Lumineers' "Ho Hey" becoming the most downloaded song from the series and reaching the Top 40 on the Billboard charts. As Lennon & Maisy, the duo released the EP Live YouTube Sessions in 2012, performed at the Grand Ole Opry multiple times, and opened for Taylor Swift at the CMA Awards in 2013. In 2017, Maisy released her debut solo single "Riding Free" for the DreamWorks Animation series Spirit Riding Free. While her sister Lennon pursued a solo pop career after the duo's dissolution, Maisy has focused primarily on her acting career in recent years, though she remains known for her contributions to the country and pop music landscape through her work with Lennon & Maisy and the Nashville soundtrack.
