Richard Bedford (born 1979) is a Grammy-nominated British singer-songwriter known for his work in electronic dance music and trance. Beginning his career as a keyboard player in various bands, Bedford transitioned to songwriting and singing in 1998. He first gained prominence through his collaboration with Above & Beyond on their debut album Tri-State (2006), released on Anjunabeats, which featured his vocals on tracks including "Alone Tonight" and "Stealing Time". His work with the group continued on their 2011 album Group Therapy, which included the IDMA-nominated single "Sun & Moon" and the Grammy-nominated track "Northern Soul", establishing him as one of the most recognizable male vocalists in the trance genre.
Beyond his extensive collaboration with Above & Beyond, Bedford has worked with numerous prominent artists in electronic music. He contributed vocals to Armin van Buuren's 2013 album Intense on the track "Love Never Came" and performed on the accompanying Armin Only Intense World Tour. His continued partnership with Above & Beyond has resulted in contributions to their albums Acoustic 2, Common Ground, and Bigger Than All Of Us, with notable tracks including "Thing Called Love", "Black Room Boy", and "Bittersweet & Blue". He has also collaborated with Aly & Fila, Matt Fax, Judge Jules, and producers including Roman Messer and Dennis Sheperd across labels such as Armada Music, FSOE, and Suanda Music. In addition to performing, Bedford has contributed as a songwriter for various artists, including tracks featuring vocalists Bo Bruce and Chloe Langley.
