Jenna G (real name Jenna Gibbons) is a British vocalist from Manchester who emerged as one of drum and bass music's most distinctive voices in the early 2000s. Starting her career as a DJ on pirate radio at age 14, she was drawn to underground sounds and joined the crew Raggabeats, which evolved into Subliminal Darkness, where she met producers Darren Lewis and Tunde Babalola of Future Cut. Her breakthrough came in 2001-2003 with the group Un-Cut, featuring Future Cut, scoring a UK Singles Chart hit with "Midnight" (reaching number 26) and releasing the album The Un-Calculated Some on WEA. Her collaboration with Future Cut on "Obsession" for Metalheadz in 2001 became one of the most recognizable drum and bass tracks of the decade.
Following Un-Cut, Jenna G released a solo album featuring productions from prominent drum and bass artists including DJ Zinc, Nu:Tone, Friction, D Bridge, DKay, and Kabuki, which she toured worldwide. She also served as the official vocalist for house music group The Shapeshifters, appearing on their debut album, and worked as a presenter for BBC Radio 1Xtra alongside Twin B. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with Chase & Status, The Qemists, Nile Rodgers, Frankie Knuckles, and Disclosure, establishing herself as a versatile vocalist across multiple electronic music genres. Her vocals have been featured across drum and bass, house, dubstep, rock, soul, and alternative music, making her one of Manchester's most prolific singer-songwriters in the electronic music scene.
