DJ NG, born in South West London, is a British DJ, producer, and radio presenter known for his influential role in the UK Funky and House scenes. He gained prominence with his 2006 track “Tell Me” featuring Katy B and MC Versatile, which became a club anthem and helped define the emerging UK Funky genre. Signed to Ministry of Sound in 2008, DJ NG’s sound blended urban electronic dance music with soulful vocals, a style he dubbed “Urbance.” His discography includes notable releases such as “Candle Wax,” “Can’t Let Go,” and remixes for artists like Lily Allen, Usher, and Natty.
Beyond production, DJ NG was a key figure on Rinse FM from 2006 to 2010, where he helped pioneer House and Funky music on UK radio alongside Geeneus. He later appeared on BBC 1Xtra and Radio 1, expanding his reach in the UK dance music scene. As a resident DJ at venues like The Factory After Party and HomeLDN in Vauxhall, London, he remained active in the club circuit. His contributions to UK garage and funky house have cemented his legacy as a foundational artist in the evolution of London’s underground dance music.
