Tay Money, whose real name is Taylor Noelle Watson, was born on April 6, 1993, in Tyler, Texas, and grew up in Dallas. Influenced by Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Fetty Wap, and her father's old-school rap tastes, she worked as a hairdresser and played softball before starting music. She debuted in 2017 with self-produced singles like "Lewis & Clark" and "Na Na," then exploded in 2018 with "Trapper's Delight" (1.2M views) and her EP DUH!. She followed up with mixtapes Hurricane Tay (2019, feat. DaBaby, YNW Melly) and Blockedt (2020), plus the massive TikTok viral hit "Bussin" (41st on U.S. Viral 50, remix with Saweetie). Signed to Geffen/Interscope in 2021, she's celebrated for her high-energy trap style by D Magazine.
