Claudio Colombo is full professor of Pedology at Molise University (Italy). He took his Ms. Degree in Agronomy Science at Naples University in 1986 and his Ph.D. in Soil Science at the University of Cordoba (Spain) in 1993. His studies concerned: spectroscopic characterization of soil organic fractions by Vis-NIR, characterization of iron oxides and their complexes with humic substance, interactions between As, Cd and Pb with iron and aluminium minerals, relationships between iron minerals and iron deficiency in plants. Current research interests are the spatial distribution of soil properties by Vis-NIR spectroscopy. In 2011 and 2014 he spent research periods as visiting scientist in the Agronomy Dep. at Purdue University (USA) , Senior Research Fellowship in the Research Centre of Eco - Environmental Science RCEES-CAS Beijing (China), in 2013 in the Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences, GNU, South Korea. He was Secretary Deputy of the SISS Italian Soil Science Society (SISS) and Member of the Directive Commission of the Italian Pedology Society (SIPe) 2006-2014. Direct activity in research programs with 10 research grants and contracts: 4 from PRIN MIUR, 1 from CNR, 1 from MIPAf, 3 Regione Molise, 2 from Fertilization Industry. He coordinate a project financed form EACEA, Erasmus+ Capacity Building. 2015-2018. IUCLAND – International University Cooperation on Land Protection in European-Asiatic Countries. He is author or coauthor of 10 chapters in books, 65 scientific articles (2700 citations, 29 H-Index, Scopus, 27 H-Index WoS) ). He is in the Editorial board of the Korean Journal of Soil Science and Fertilizer, Journal of Soil and Sediment and Plant. From 2013 he was Rector Delegate of International Affair and from 2023 he is Rector Delegate for Erasmus Programs at Molise University.
