After a series of releases in her home country, Florence Adooni released the album A.O.E.I.U. (An Ordinary Exercise in Unity) internationally in February. Previously, she had received much attention for the single Mam Pe’ela Su’ure (2021).
She is from Kumasi in the Ghanaian rainforest and is of the Frafra people. Adooni started singing in a local church choir. After establishing herself as an artist in Ghana, she came into contact with producer Max Weissenfeldt, with whom she has collaborated for several years. In 2014, she toured Ghana with a star team of local musicians. Four years later, she toured with the group Guy One in Europe, which resulted in a collaboration with Finnish artist Jimi Tenor. In 2023 and 2024, she toured Europe several times as a solo artist, with great success. Her music mix elements of jazz, highlife, and soul.
