Paul Frederik de Munnik (born September 30, 1970, in Dronten) is a Dutch singer, best known as a member of the duo Acda en De Munnik.

Biography
During his youth, De Munnik sang in his mother's church choir and played in a new-age band. He was a childhood friend of actor Kees Boot. Together, they organized the "grote avonden" (cultural evenings) at their high school, Almere College. De Munnik studied at the Kleinkunstacademie (Academy of Performing Arts) in Amsterdam, where he first met Thomas Acda, who was then studying at the Drama School in the same building. They graduated in 1993 with a joint production that earned them the Pisuisse Prize. After graduation, they initially pursued separate paths.

After completing his studies, De Munnik also taught at the Kleinkunstacademie. He appeared in television series such as Pleidooi, Help, and Een Galerij, and worked as an explicateur (narrator) at the Nederlands Filmmuseum.

Career
In 1995, Acda and De Munnik reunited to create a theater show called Zwerf'On. The show was a great success, and they received numerous requests to release the songs on CD.

In 2007, De Munnik toured the Dutch theaters with Kees Prins and JP den Tex with the musical program Op weg naar huis. He also compiled the book Ik heb een steen verlegd, featuring texts by the admired Bram Vermeulen.

In the fall of 2010, De Munnik toured the Netherlands with Fernando Lameirinhas and Riet Muylaert with Brellando, a performance featuring songs by and inspired by Jacques Brel. In 2011/2012, De Munnik toured the theaters with Maarten van Roozendaal with the program Heimwee naar de hemel, singing songs by deceased artists.

In early 2014, Acda and De Munnik announced their decision to stop performing as a theater duo. They embarked on an extensive farewell tour titled NAAM. Their final performances took place in March 2015 at Koninklijk Theater Carré, where Paul and Thomas were honored with a royal decoration and the Andreas Medal from the city of Amsterdam.

In the spring of 2016, De Munnik toured seventeen intimate small venues with his solo work. For his solo album, he collaborated with Wouter Planteijdt.

In early 2021, De Munnik, alongside Thomas Acda, Maan & Typhoon, released the song Als ik je weer zie. Since March 2021, he has been part of The Streamers, a temporary formation that gave free livestream concerts during the COVID-19 pandemic. As restrictions eased, the group announced concerts with live audiences.

In March 2021, the book Zachtop lachen by author Malou Holshuijsen was published. De Munnik voiced the audiobook, narrating the dialogues of the psychologist with whom the main character interacts.

In January 2022, he released Stap maar in bij mij, a collaboration with MEAU. From March 2023, the duo Acda en De Munnik reunited.
