Manufactura was started in the fall of 2000 by Karloz.M, also known for his work as Broken Fabiola and more recently Karloz Manufactura. He and Scott Sturgis of Converter and Pain Station began the indie label Auricle Media in 2001 and released the debut Regression.

The music combines different aspects of the electronic genre, and the samples and vocals generally center around themes of violence and horror. Manufactura has performed live with many bands, including Babyland, Combichrist, Glis, Haujobb, Hocico, Imperative Reaction, SMP, Sonar, and Terrorfakt.

Manufactura has since released seven albums, 3 EP's and a best of collection.
