Artist Biography
Available in: gb icon flag icon
The Offspring were formed in Garden Grove, California in 1984, when teenagers Dexter Holland and Greg Kriesel started a band in a garage after seeing Social Distortion live. With guitarist Noodles on board, it took nearly a decade before the world took notice — but when it happened, it hit hard. Smash from 1994 sold over eleven million copies, became the best-selling album ever released on an independent label, and the single “Come Out and Play” dragged punk rock back into the mainstream alongside Green Day and Rancid. The follow-up Americana took them even higher with “Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)”, “The Kids Aren’t Alright” and “Why Don’t You Get a Job?”. Over four decades and eleven studio albums, they have sold more than 45 million records.

The music is fast, catchy and in-your-face punk rock with a melodic instinct that makes the choruses impossible to forget. Holland’s sharp, sarcastic lyrics shift between humour, social commentary and surprising vulnerability — from the satirical to the painful, often within the same song. This is punk for people who like to sing along.

Live, The Offspring are an energy bomb with over 40 years of experience. They know exactly how to build a set that keeps the audience moving from the first chord to the last, and with a catalogue packed with hits, it’s hard to find a band that delivers more pure joy of playing per minute.
