Artist Biography
Available in: gb icon
HOMESHAKE is an indie, solo-based music project based out of Montreal, Canada. Created by Peter Sagar, HOMESHAKE has a unique style of music from each album. Covering traditional indie rock, R&B, and synth as well as electronic beats, HOMESHAKE checks all the boxes and Sagar shows his depth and talent across each album.

Being likened as a homebody, Sagar finds comfort in the little things that everyone finds at home. Before HOMESHAKE was created, Sagar was most of the time not at home, as he was a guitarist for Mac DeMarco whenever he went on the road. Let’s just say Mac tours and is on the road a lot, pretty much all the time when he comes out with music (Mac is currently on tour). Living the road warrior life wasn’t for Peter though unlike Mac, and he went back to Montreal to make HOMESHAKE.

HOMESHAKE has three albums, each one changing genres and blending different styles of music. The first album, “In the Shower”, is definitely the most guitar heavy and was made right after playing with Mac. The whiney, surf-rock guitar sound that can be heard in most of the songs definitely shows that Peter played with Mac for a while, and he has some pretty laid-back tracks with “Home at Last” and “Chowder”. The next two albums, “Fresh Air” and “Helium” show the growth of HOMESHAKE’s sound the best and dive into more R&B and synth styles of music.

A great listen for rainy days or for reading a book, HOMESHAKE delivers a sound that is like no other and brings a sense of comfort from the first song. Give HOMESHAKE a listen, you will not be disappointed.
