Newsense Memory started in 2002, as a project by Piter Reitsma, Auke van der Ploeg and Wilbert 'Donny' Schippers. They took their inspiration from Pop-Punk bands like The Offspring, Blink 182 and Green Day. In 2007 the band won the Frisian provincial Pop-music award and reached the final of the Popprijs van Nederland, which resulted in a performance in the rock temple ''the Melkweg'' in Amsterdam. Later in 2007 the first EP, Fashion Amèricain, was released. In 2011, the band released their second EP, The Sky Is The Limit. Over time, the style of music has shifted from punk rock to alternative rock. However, the punk roots can still be heard in new songs. In 2013 They released the EP ''trivia'' before disbanding in 2014.
