Dijon Duenas (born 9 June 1992, in Washington, raised in Ellicott City, Maryland) is one of the most singular voices in American alternative R&B. Previously one half of the duo Abhi//Dijon, he began releasing solo material in 2017, following a string of singles and EPs.
His debut studio album, Absolutely, arrived in 2021 alongside an accompanying film. Released on 5 November 2021 through R&R and Warner Records, the album was entirely self-produced by Dijon alongside frequent collaborator Mk.gee. Where his earlier EPs, Sci Fi 1 (2019) and How Do You Feel About Getting Married? (2020), were about figuring out who he was as an artist through collages of ideas, Absolutely became about figuring out who he could be, wrestling with the expectations placed on him by others and by himself. Much of the record was recorded in his home studio around a single central microphone, pieced together with a shifting cast of collaborators who moved in and out of the sessions on their own schedules. Pitchfork singled out his voice on the record, describing it as pliant and raspy, shifting from coos to wails to murmurs.
Dijon supported Bon Iver on tour in 2022 before headlining his own tour behind the album.
In August 2025, he returned with his second album, Baby, released on 15 August 2025 through R&R and Warner, to widespread critical acclaim. The album was announced just a week before release, alongside a countdown clock jokingly labeled as running "unless samples don't get cleared."
Restless and self-produced, Dijon's music moves fluidly between soul, Americana, and experimental pop — a body of work built on intimacy, risk, and a refusal to sound comfortable.
