Pa Salieu (Pa Salieu Gaye, born July 1, 1997, in Slough, England) is a British-Gambian rapper and singer from Coventry, known for blending UK drill, grime, afroswing, and melodic rap into a bold, genre-defying style.
He had his breakthrough with the explosive single “Frontline” (2020), which became the most-played track on BBC Radio 1Xtra that year. His debut mixtape Send Them to Coventry (November 2020) received widespread acclaim for its innovative sound and raw lyricism, earning him an Ivor Novello nomination and the title of BBC Sound of 2021.
After serving a prison sentence from 2022 to September 2024, Salieu returned with renewed creative energy. His 2024 mixtape Afrikan Alien blends Afrobeats, UK rap, and rhythm-heavy instrumentation with introspective, culturally rooted storytelling. Tracks like “Belly,” “Allergy,” and “Round & Round” highlight his evolution—from reflections in a cell to eclectic, melodic rap arrangements.
Musically, Pa Salieu’s sound is both intense and expansive: layered beats that shift between grime’s raw energy, afroswing grooves, and soulful R&B melodies. His flow is charged and melodically rich, full of heart and narrative. Live, he delivers the same energy—powerful, dynamic, and deeply personal.
