A five piece from Des Moines, they play poppy folk with great harmonies from vocalists Scott Yoshimura and Dana Halferty (who writes all the songs), catchy melodies and a warm yet jaunty acoustic sound.
Like their genre-diversity, Parlours is a band that can seamlessly morph from a 5-piece ensemble producing a sound that fills a music hall, into a coffee shop acoustic duo that speaks to the soul.
The band Parlours is one that is understated, smart, fun and pointedly Midwestern, based in Iowa. They have an infectious, charming and uber melodic indie-pop sound with jangly guitars and a driving rhythm section. Parlour’s impressive instrumentation and the quality of vocalist Dana Halferty’s melody-driven songcraft and her gentle, light-as-air vocals are sure to leave each listener with a pleasant listening experience.
