Inger Elvi Margareta Wikström , born December 11, 1939 in Örgryte parish in Gothenburg , is a Swedish concert pianist , composer and conductor .
Inger Wikström is the daughter of director Herbert Wikström and Elvi Andersson and sister of Gunnel Biberfeld . Wikström graduated as a music teacher at Stockholm's Citizens' School in 1958. She made her debut in the same city in 1956, in London in 1959 and has toured in the USA, Europe, Russia, Asia, South America, Africa. She has given concerts on radio and TV and made recordings.
She has written the book Rapsodi (1975), composed songs to lyrics by Rainer Maria Rilke , the children's opera Junker Nils by Eka to lyrics by Astrid Lindgren and the opera The Outlaw to lyrics by August Strindberg .
Wikström has run the Nordic Music Conservatory , NMK, since 1977 , which she founded this year together with the concert violinist David Bartov . She was elected a member of the Swedish Composers' Association in 1987.
Inger Wikström was married for the first time in 1962–1971 to Caspar Lundquist (born 1936) , the second time in 1972–1979 to David Bartov (1951–2000) and the third time in 1980–1990 to the politician and official Jan-Erik Wikström (born 1932). Inger Wikström is the mother of the photographer and artist Teresa Lundquist (born 1969), the opera singer Michael Bartov (born 1973) and the director and opera director Mira Bartov (born 1975)
