Alfredo da Rocha Vianna Filho, known as Pixinguinha (Rio de Janeiro, April 23, 1897 - Rio de Janeiro, February 17, 1973), was a Brazilian conductor, flutist, saxophonist, composer and arranger. At Radio Mayrink Veiga's studio, 1932, the young Manuel de Nóbrega, at 19 years old (2nd from left to right) Carmen and Aurora Miranda (seated) holding the Pixinguinha flute. Pixinguinha is considered one of the greatest composers of Brazilian popular music. It contributed directly to the choro finding a definitive musical form.
