The group was formed in 2007 after the members met while attending the music program at Foss Upper Secondary School.
Their music is characterized by warm vocal harmonies, whimsical and poetic lyrics, and an organic blend of pop and folk influences. Their debut single “Lite og stort” from 2014 was featured in a Widerøe commercial and gained significant radio play. Their debut album Henda i været (2016) was nominated for the Spellemann Award, and both Mohn and Christensen were nominated for the TONO Composer’s Prize.
The follow-up album Hva nå (2017) received widespread acclaim and earned the group the Prøysen Award the same year. Their third album Duell (2019) reached the top 10 on the Norwegian album chart, and Emilie Christensen was nominated for “Lyricist of the Year” at the Spellemann Awards. In 2021, they released the self-titled album No. 4, praised for its maturity and understated strength.
In the fall of 2024, No. 4 released Indre liv, continuing their tradition of melodic, lyric-driven pop full of warmth and intimacy. The group is known for their atmospheric live performances and has established themselves as a distinct and recognizable voice in Norwegian pop music.
