Abel Ferreira (Coromandel, Minas Gerais, February 15, 1915 - Rio de Janeiro, April 13, 1980) was self-taught, not just in music, for the family prevented his studies and forced him to work from small offices.
He recorded her first choro, Chorando Baixinho, in 1942. The following year went to Rio to play in casinos and on the radio. He made memorable duets with Old Joe and Pixies, with whom he recorded in 1958 Naive. In Abel's own accounts, he composed over fifty songs, including Acariciando, Luar de Coromandel and Chorinho do Suvaco de Cobra. He traveled the world and even his later years continued blowing the instrument, in concert with Copinha and Raul de Barros.
