Artist Biography Available in: Klára Körmendi (born 22 March 1944 in Budapest) is a Hungarian pianist.Klára Körmendi studied at the Bartók Conservatory in Budapest, with Kornél Zempléni (1922-2013), and Péter Sólymos at the Franz Liszt Academy where she received her diploma in 1967.
She recorded for the Hungaroton label in 1974, then in 1984 a disc devoted to Zsolt Durkó, Attila Bozay, John Cage, Iannis Xenakis and Karlheinz Stockhausen. In the 1990s, she wrote Erik Satie's piano work for Naxos.
Since 1993 she has taught at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest. In 2007, she is a member of the jury of Olivier-Messiaen Piano Competition
