Francesco Tasini celebra il restauro dell'organo alla Chiesa del Suffragio Eventi a Forlì
Francesco Tasini completed his musical studies at the Conservatories of Bologna and Milan, graduating cum laude in Organ and Organ Composition (with W. van de Pol), Harpsichord and Composition (with G. Manzoni). He received his DAMS degree with full marks with a thesis on the XV opera by the seventeenth-century musician Maurizio Cazzati.
He has produced publications and critical reviews of Italian keyboard works from the 17th and 18th centuries by authors such as Marco SANTUCCI (Paideia-Bärenreiter), Azzolino Bernardino DELLA CIAJA (Ut Orpheus), Rodio ROCCO (Cornetto-Verlag); in collaboration with A. Macinanti, the Opera omnia in five volumes of keyboard music by Alessandro SCARLATTI, Giovanni Battista MARTINI (op. 2, vol. I-II); the Musical Flowers of Girolamo FRESCOBALDI (Ut Orpheus) and, again, an anthological collection of Italian organ music from the 15th to the 18th century. entitled Organum Italicum (four volumes for Carrara, Bergamo).
He is a member of the Editorial Committee for the edition of the Opera Omnia organistica by Marco Enrico BOSSI (vol. I-VI) for the Carrara Editions of Bergamo and is co-director of the magazine "Arte Organistica & Organaria" published by Carrara.
Author of numerous essays on performance practice and organology, he edited the first Italian translation of the Orgelprobe - Testudo dell'Organo (1698) treatise by Andreas Werckmeister (Turris, Cremona 1996).
Winner of numerous Composition competitions, his works are published by Suvini-Zerboni (Milan); the passage Trinitarian Dossology for Grand'Organ is published by Carrara (Bergamo 2000). The song Tetélestai (4 vocal soloists and organ, 2007) was recorded on CD at the Tactus record company.
He transcribed for organ a series of Concerts by A. Vivaldi, recorded for Tactus and published by the Butz publishing house in Bonn (A. Vivaldi, Konzert-Transkription in für Orgel, Transkriebiert und Herausgegeben von F. Tasini, Butz, St. Augustin 2006 )
He is a member of the Philharmonic Academy of Bologna, in the Composers class, and of the Diocesan Sacred Music Commissions of the Archdiocese of Bologna and of the Diocese of Ferrara.
He has recorded fifty CDs for Tactus, Syrius, Ermitage, Edipan, Dynamic, Bottega Discantica and Mondo Musica di Monaco (including the I and II Book of Toccate d'Intavolatura of organ by Claudio Merulo, I and II Libro di Ricercate by GM Trabaci, I and II Book of several Capricci by A. Mayone, the first book of Capricci and the Fantasies by Frescobaldi, 1 CD of Vivaldi's concertos personally transcribed for organ, the Opera Omnia for keyboard by Alessandro Scarlatti for the record company Tactus] and the integral of the Thoughts of Giovanni Maria Casini).
He holds the chair of "Organ and Organ Composition" at the "G. Frescobaldi ”of Ferrara.
