Artist Biography Available in: Gottlieb Wallisch (born August 7, 1978 in Vienna ) is an Austrian pianist .
Wallisch comes from a Viennese family of musicians. His great-uncle Johann Nepomuk David (1895-1977) was a composer of the 20th century. At six and a half, Wallisch was admitted to the gifted class of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna as the youngest student at that time . He attended the Schottengymnasium in Vienna.
He completed his studies in Vienna with Heinz Medjimorec. Master classes with Oleg Maisenberg and Dimitri Bashkirov as well as collaboration with Pascal Devoyon at the University of the Arts in Berlin and Jacques Rouvier in Paris set further artistic impulses . As a laureate of international competitions, he won, among others, the 1st Prize of the Stravinsky Award in the USA; He was also a finalist in the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels and the XXI. Concours Clara Haskil at Vevey 2005.
