Blick Bassy is a Cameroonian singer, composer, guitarist and percussionist. Born in 1974, he grew up in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Born in the Bassa ethnic group, Blick Bassy comes from a large family.
The artist, rocked by traditional rhythms and music, has explored several musical types. He is experiencing a meteoric musical rise. At the beginning of his career, Blick Bassy creates two musical groups. At the age of 17 when he was still high school student, he created the group, The Jazz Crew, which was a success in Cameroon. In 1996, he founded the Macase group and began a new musical experience. The music of Macasa group mixing Bantu rhythms, Jazz and Soul ensures the notoriety of Blick Bassy with the release of two albums: Etam in 1999 and Doulou in 2003. The Macase group obtains many awards at national and international level More Later, he produced his third album, Akö, hailed by critics.
In 2019, he released a fourth album entitled 1958 (No Format / Early or Late), in which he pays tribute to Ruben Um Nyobe, hero of the anti-colonial resistance Cameroonian
