Alex Matos (Santo Domingo, February 12, 1976) is a Dominican salsa singer, known as "El salsero de ahora"

Alex Matos was born on February 12, 1976 in Santo Domingo. From a very early age he showed an inclination towards music, since at just 5 years he was the main singer of a small group formed by children of his sector.

She started singing studies with the teacher Marianela Sánchez, where she defines her musical line: salsa and pop ballad. At that time he got the help of arranger Sandy Jorge with whom he made his first musical production entitled "Ponte en salsa", which has ten musical themes, eight of which are unpublished (seven of their authorship), an adaptation («Skin Of angel ") and a tribute to sonero Ismael Rivera.

In 2011, with the help of maestro Victor Waill, he released the song "Si entendieras", popularized by Anthony Ríos. This song was followed by "A night is not enough", "Love is like a flower", "Perfect love", "I want to tell you that I love you" and "What a pity you give me", the latter of his own authorship, As well as singer-songwriter.

In his first tour of Europe, he met Roberto Ferrante, president of Planet Records, who signed with him the production and distribution of his album "El salsero de agora", which is released in 2013, containing 12 tracks, 6 adaptations and 6 Unpublished, of which, 3 are authored by Matos. The promotion of the album begins on the East Coast of the United States, reaching position number 8 of the ranking Latin Tropical Album of the list of Billboard, and the position number 7 of Tropical Chart of Billboard with the song "Una noche is not enough"
