Members : Anna Fontana, Christoph Timpe, Corrado Pastore, Gabriele Folchi, Giovanni Barbati, Giovanni Dalla Vecchia, Marco Pesci, Pietro Meldolesi.

Formed in Rome in 1995 on the initiative of the violinist Christoph Timpe, the instrumental ensemble Accademia per Musica is dedicated to the interpretation of the Italian and German repertoire of the middle and late Baroque and has a staff varying from four to ten instrumentalists.
Choices of repertoire privilege authors and currents less known to the general public but whose music, always of remarkable quality, is characterized by precise historical and aesthetic connotations.
The performance and recording of works for violin and basso continuo of the Neapolitan baroque, for example, have imposed the Academy for Music to the attention of the public and critics, as well as having collected awards from the specialized press throughout Europe.
The choice of a philological cut that goes beyond, however, the diatribes on the use of vintage instruments and focuses rather on the return of the affects of baroque music, on its metric structures and its rhetorical forms, represents the stylistic cipher with which Accademia per Musica deals with a repertoire considered as live music and not as a simple historical document.
The ensemble has been hosted in seasons and international events such as Music and Poetry in S. Maurizio (Milan), Settembre Musica (Turin), Händelfestspiele (Göttingen), Händel-Haus (Halle), Accademia di S. Cecilia (Rome), Tage für Alte Musik (Berlin) and he edited, together with the Institute of Italian Culture in Berlin, an overview on the history of the violin in Italy.
In co-production with DeutschlandRadio Berlin, Accademia per Musica recorded the recording of an important cycle of unpublished Italian sonatas for violin and basso continuo.
Christoph Timpe was born in Freiburg (Germany) and lives in Rome since high school.
He began studying the violin at age 6; since 1985 he has dedicated himself to the baroque violin and to the pre-classical repertoire; the period of apprenticeship with Reinhard Goebel, the famous founder and director of the historic ancient music ensemble Musica Antiqua Köln, allowed him to develop his own personal language and method of self-employment.
After a short stay in England, where he played with the European Baroque Orchestra, the Orchester Révolutionnaire et Romantique conducted by John Eliot Gardiner and The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Timpe returned to Italy, where for some years he held the role of shoulder violin in the orchestra of the Montis Regalis Academy.
Currently Timpe is the first violin and soloist of the Florentine complex Modo Antiquo and guest in several other Italian formations; abroad, as well as Musica Antiqua Köln, he worked with the orchestra Concerto Kölnwith the formations of the theaters of Halle and Karlsruhe.
As a guest musician, the violinist collaborates with Marc Minkowski's Les Musiciens du Louvre, with the Dutch group Musica ad Rhenum directed by Jed Wentz, with The Foundation directed by Paul Dombrecht, with the Cappella Coloniensis orchestra and with the US group Rebel.
To his credit he has numerous recordings and important musicological publications born from his research on the Baroque repertoire.
