The French and Swiss violinist, born in 1997 in Mauritius, began her studies at the age of four in Geneva. Julie Berthollet took classes with Mimi Zweig at Bloomington's Jacob School of Music. She also received valuable advice for three years from Zakhar Bron and his assistants. She then continued her studies with Mihaela Martin at the University of Music of Geneva. Julie Berthollet will begin her studies at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel with Augustin Dumay in September 2017. Julie Berthollet has received many first prizes at the Vatelot-Rampal Competition. She then won the Bloomington Concerto Competition in 2010, the third prize at the 2012 TIM International Contest in Paris, the second prize at the Mary Smart International Competition in New York in the senior category, and the first prize at the 2014 contest.
