Artist Biography
Available in: gb icon
Törr is a black/thrash metal band from the Prague, Czech Republic, formed in 1977, and still going strong. Regarded by many as the fathers of Czech metal, they have influenced a Czech many other Czech bands.

Originally their name was simply Torr like the old pressure unit. In 1981 they changed their name to Törr, inspired by the name of Motörhead. Törr also means "lame" in slang Swedish, but this very probably wasn't intended.

Their first albums prior to Morituri te salutant are very inspired by the old school black metal style as played by Venom. Their last albums as from Made in Hell are more towards the modern thrash metal style. Meanwhile when they were playing with Roman Izaiáš and Petr Vajda (both in Doga) they were playing a more industrial style.

Current line-up
Ota Hereš - guitars, vocals (also in 666, Kryptor, Alkehol, Harlej, ex-Leprocide) (1977 - 1989, 2001 - )
Radek Sladký - drums (ex-Ferat) (2002 - )
Honza "Bart" Bartoš - bass, vocals (also in Promile, Zordon) (2011 - )
