Artist BiographyAvailable in:

Kelly Lee Owens (born August 24, 1988, in Rhuddlan, Wales) is a Welsh electronic musician, singer, and producer who constantly reinvents her sound across ambient, dream pop, techno, and pop/dance.
Her self-titled debut album Kelly Lee Owens (2017) established her signature blend of minimal techno, dream pop, and atmospheric soundscapes. With Inner Song in 2020, melodic vocals and club-friendly rhythms became more prominent, including a collaboration with John Cale. On LP.8 (2022), she explored a darker sonic palette with more distortion, sparse vocal passages, and experimental production.
Her fourth album, Dreamstate (released October 18, 2024, on dh2/Dirty Hit), marks another bold reinvention. Produced with Tom Rowlands (The Chemical Brothers), Bicep, and George Daniel (The 1975), the album combines crystalline, trance-infused club tracks with more introspective ballads. Songs like “Dark Angel,” “Love You Got,” “Sunshine,” and “Ballad (In the End)” showcase her ability to create hypnotic rhythms tied together with delicate vocals and shimmering textures.
Dreamstate was praised for its architectural clarity and emotional range—not as a move toward simple pop clichés, but as a refined continuation of Kelly Lee Owens’ distinctive style. Live, she brought the album to life in 2025 with intimate concerts that received acclaim for combining expansive sonic landscapes with a sense of closeness.
Kelly Lee Owens’ music is difficult to place in a single box—she blends melodic pop with immersive techno and ambient atmospheres. Each release reshapes electronic music with emotional depth, where subtle repetition and texture build powerful moments without relying on traditional song structures. Her music feels both intimate and boundless: equally at home on a club floor or in late-night headphones.
