The band was founded in the seventh grade of the Beethoven-Gymnasium, when sports lessons were canceled because of the illness of the teacher. The group described their earlier musical style with "from hardcore punk to 8-bit gameboy casio music". Originally, all members studied subjects such as architecture, film music, mathematics, electrical engineering, and media design, but they did take a study break to concentrate on their album and tour. In 2014 Von Wegen Lisbeth went on tour with AnnenMayKandeit, in November they released their EP "Und plötzlich der Lachs". In the beginning of 2015 18 further concerts with AnnenMayKantereit followed and at the end of the year their first own tour called "disturbance in the business procedure". After being on tour with Element of Crime and AnnenMayKandeit at the beginning of 2016, they released their debut album "Grande" on July 15 2016, followed by the same-named tour in September and October of the year. In addition, the band played in 2016 at numerous festivals such as Appletree Garden Festival, Cosmonaut Festival and Fusion Festival.
