Raj Montana Band was Dan Hylander and Py Bäckman's common backing band. The name comes from the band's original name, Ray Montana and his Moonlight Boys. Members of the band varied over the years. Many of them were part of what in the 1980s was called the "studio elite". The band dissolved 1985. 1997 resurrected the band for a reunion tour and a compilation with some newly recorded tracks on.
