A native of Dallas, Texas, Shaun Martin is no stranger to music. At the age of 3 years old, he took a liking to the drums at church, playing on the backs of the pews with forks and knives that he would take from home, and never looked back. His mother saw the passion for music in him and decided that he should do more so she allowed him to study piano at the age of four with Carolyn Campbell where he studied all styles of music including classical and jazz. During his high school years, he enrolled in Booker T. Washington High School for the Perfoming and Visual Arts, a legendary school that produced such musical icons as Roy Hargrove, Erykah Badu, Edie Brickell, and Nora Jones to name a few. After which he enrolled at Weatherford College and the University of North Texas where he earned a Bachelors of Applied Arts and Sciences. Currently, he serves as the Minister of Music at Friendship West Baptist Church where Dr. Frederick D. Haynes, III serves as the Senior Pastor. He also serves as the Music Director for Multi- Grammy award winner and Fort Worth native Kirk Franklin. Together, the two have produced multiple gold and platinum records as well as being the recipients of multiple Grammy awards for their efforts. Shaun is endeavoring to make his mark, not only as a producer, but as an artist as well with his soon to be released solo record entitled “7 Summers” due Spring 2014. Mr. Martin is a notable top call musician, touring and producing with the likes of mega-producer Timbaland, The Weeknd, Fred Hammond, Chaka Khan, Erykah Badu, Snarky Puppy and many, many others. Mr. Martin is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated and he’s married to the lovely and beautiful Mrs. Monica Wilson Martin.
