taken from their myspace: "Forming in an "Introduction to Strings" class at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Chris Dye and Aaron Mew welcomed Anthony Stubelek into their group thus creating and all cello group named the Butternut Trio. Friend, Michael "Mickey" Dwyer transfered from an afternoon class and turned the Trio into a Quartet.
After ending the class, they decided to pick up conventional rock instruments. Their first performance was for the SCAD talent show, in which they did not advance into the finals. They went on to play shows in local Savannah clubs as well as in Brunswick and St. Simon's Island, GA.
Due to conflicting schedules, Mickey was let go as drummer of the BNQ and was replaced for a few shows by Jay Wynne of Circle Takes the Square. Vince Jarocki became the BNQ's final drummer, drumming on a few of the songs on the band's album and playing the final shows.
In 2001, the band parted ways as both Chris and Aaron had graduated. Chris returned to his home in Virginia Beach, VA, where he managed to set up the band's final show at Peabody's for the Hotline Fashion show at the East Coast Surf Championships.
Aaron left for Hawaii soon after and Anthony finished up school in Savannah and then took up the Ceramic Dog studios (where the BNQ's CD was recorded and produced) in Brunswick, turning it into Rock Studio, where he records and produces Circle Takes the Square and Caroline among many other bands.
