Warning is a highly influential British doom metal band. Formed in Harlow, Essex, in 1994 by vocalist and guitarist Patrick Walker, they are legendary for their slow, emotionally heavy, and deeply melancholic sound.
The band is best known for their 2006 masterpiece album, Watching from a Distance. It is widely celebrated by fans on communities like Reddit's r/doommetal as one of the greatest and most emotionally devastating doom metal albums ever recorded. Patrick Walker's distinctively vulnerable, unvarnished vocals and massive, mournful riffs set a new standard for the genre.
After disbanding in 2009—leading Walker to form the acoustic-leaning project 40 Watt Sun—the band spent years away from the spotlight, save for occasional reunion shows.
