Fredl Fesl grew up in his native town of Grafenau and then moved in nine years with his parents to Greding in Altmühltal. There, his parents operated the inn "Zum Bayerischen". Later the family moved to Munich. Fesl visited after primary school Grafenau the secondary school in Ingolstadt, where he lived in a boarding school later. Fredl Fesl was twice Upper Bavaria junior champion in weightlifting. Since 1962 he is member of the sports club of railwaymen (East). The guitar playing he learned during his time in the army.
After Fesl had tried various jobs he wanted to build an existence as craftsman and taught in Freising up a workshop. But his very popular with the public appearances at Munich cabarets left it differently. Says that it began his career with the fact that he had to pay in the Munich cabaret by the bringing his guitar no cover charge - he always claimed to be the performing musicians. One evening finally lacked the actual artists to Fesl was persuaded and joined to itself. In 1976, in Munich theater at the Fraunhofer his first record entitled Fredl Fesl. Five more albums were to follow. After the publication of his first record he had his own television show, Fredl and his guests.
One of its trademarks in live performance is the detailed preface before his plays. Fesl is often associated with the previously regularly made by him Königsjodler.
For several years Fesl can be heard regularly on radio commercials beer brand Veldensteiner. Of 2008, because of the mention of Jürgen Klinsmann in one of these commercials to a trial in which the beer manufacturer Kaiser Bräu subject.
Fesl suffering since 1997 from Parkinson's disease and had to end of 2006, his well-attended farewell tours therefore set. He lives with his second wife Monika on a detached farmhouse in the Upper Bavarian Pleiskirchen.
