Poli Plamenova Genova (Bulgarian: Поли Пламенова Генова; born 10 February 1987 in Sofia) is a Bulgarian singer, songwriter, actress, and television presenter. She is best known internationally for representing Bulgaria twice at the Eurovision Song Contest, in 2011 and 2016, and domestically for her work as a television coach, judge, and voice actress.
Genova began performing in 1991 at the age of four and, in 1996, became the first member of the Bulgarian children's ensemble Bon-Bon, also hosting the group's eponymous television show. With Bon-Bon she performed alongside established Bulgarian singers including Georgi Hristov, Yordanka Hristova, and Neli Rangelova, and represented the group at the 1997 Slavianski Bazaar festival in Vitebsk before leaving in 2001. She trained as a clarinettist at the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music and later studied at the Krastyo Sarafov National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts, while also taking part in the UNICEF charity project The Magnificent Six.
Genova pursued Eurovision selection on several occasions, finishing second in Bulgaria's national selection for the 2009 contest with "One Lifetime Is Not Enough." She won the 2011 national selection with "Na inat" ("Stubborn"), representing Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Germany, though the song failed to qualify from its semi-final. She subsequently served as a mentor on the first season of X Factor Bulgaria and released the album 1, 2, 3 in 2014. In 2016 the Bulgarian National Television internally selected her to represent the country a second time, with "If Love Was a Crime," co-written with Theodosii Spassov, Sebastian Arman, Boris Milanov, and Joacim "Twin" Persson. The song brought Bulgaria to the Eurovision final for the first time since 2007 and Genova placed fourth, at the time the country's best-ever result, and the track topped the Bulgarian charts and reached several European charts. She hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Sofia and later served as an interval performer at the 2016 edition in Malta.
Beyond music, Genova has coached or judged on The Voice of Bulgaria and X Factor Bulgaria, won the Bulgarian reality show Music Academy in 2013, and received the BG Radio award for Best Female Artist in 2017 and 2021. She has appeared in Bulgarian musicals including Aladdin and The Ugly Duckling, and has voiced animated characters in Bulgarian dubs including Smurfette in The Smurfs films and Judy Hopps in Zootopia. She has served as UNICEF Bulgaria's National Ambassador since 2023. Genova is married and has three children.
