"Charizma" is the alias of rapper Charles Hicks, born in 1973 in San José, California, USA. He is best known for his work with DJ and hip-hop producer Peanut Butter Wolf. Charizma began rapping at the age of 14, entering school talent shows. In 1989 at the age of 16 he met 19-year-old Chris Manak or "Chris Cut", the soon-to-be Peanut Butter Wolf. In 1990, they were signed to the Disney-owned label "Hollywood Basics". However, after recording about an album's worth of material, the only thing released by the label was a promo cassette of their song "Red Light Green Light". They left the label in 1993 which soon folded, and in that same year Charizma was shot and killed on 18th December. 10 years on, the material recorded whilst at Hollywood Basics was released under the album name Big Shots in 2003 as Charizma & Peanut Butter Wolf, under Peanut Butter Wolf's own Stones Throw label.
