Melody's Echo Chamber is the project of French musician Melody Prochet, and her sound has been described as dream pop, space rock, psychedelic rock, and shoegaze — with references to bands like Stereolab, Broadcast, and Cocteau Twins. Behind the dreamy sonic tapestries lies a classically trained musician who has let everything from Debussy to 1960s French chanson shape her approach to pop music.
The 2012 debut album was produced by Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, and the result is like being transported back to Paris in the 1960s — with antique guitars, whooshing synthesizers, and Prochet's voice floating lightly over it all. Since then, she has continuously developed her sound, and on her latest album, Unclouded, from 2025, producer Sven Wunder elevates her palette with something new and more concrete: breakbeats, supple bass, and strings that move like muscle rather than fog.
The music of Melody's Echo Chamber is like dreaming with your eyes open — beautiful, a little disorienting, and impossible to forget afterward.
