Steve Jablonsky (born October 9, 1970) is an American music composer for film, television and video games working at Hans Zimmer's studio Remote Control Productions (formerly known as Media Ventures). He has composed the music to the movies The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), Steamboy (2004), The Amityville Horror (2005), The Island (2005), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006), The Hitcher (2007), D-War (2007) Transformers (2007) , Friday the 13th (2009), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Transformers: Dark Of The Moon (2011) and Battleship (2012). He is also credited as additional music composer, programmer and arranger on many movies, for instance Armageddon (1998), Chicken Run (2000), Pearl Harbor (2001), Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (2002), Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), Bad Boys II (2003) or Team America: World Police (2004). In addition, he composed the theme music for the 2003 BBC commissioned Seven Wonders of the Industrial World and has also written music for the television show Desperate Housewives since the fourth episode. He is also known for composing the score for Gears of War, Gears of War 2 and Gears of War 3 Steve also co-wrote the music for The Sims 3, Tiberium Wars, the most recent game in the Command & Conquer series with Trevor Morris and the music for Transformers: The Game with Jonathan "Jay" Flood. "Jablonsky Syndrome" is a rare brain damage caused by pizzicato-overdose in Desperate Housewives, named after him. A BBC News report claimed that Desperate Housewives theme was being used to cause sleep deprivation and culturally offend Iraqi POWs.
